Getting Started with Metability
Metability is a modular user interface (GUI) for Rochade. It provides the ideal interface for users who need to have access to and work with Rochade metadata that is organized in subject areas and subject area hierarchies.
Metability is a solution-oriented product and you can, therefore, extend and adapt it to the special requirements of any business environment.
Following are some of the tasks that you might want to try first:
- Starting Metability.
- Getting oriented in Metability and getting to know its Navigation and Editor frames.
- Learning to navigate and browse Rochade repositories at the various levels.
- Learning to work with repository contents, for example, creating, copying, renaming, deleting, running reports and queries.

- Starting Metability Explorer
Metability Explorer is Metability’s default user interface. It defines access to the repository and provides a view on the available databases that visualizes data exactly as they are stored in the repository.
- Running Multiple Instances of Metability
Enable Metability to run multiple instances. Metability stores various session information in a local directory called workspace, which enables it to remember window positions, open perspectives, and other session data for its users.
