Welcome to Folio Views
Welcome to Folio Views® . We are glad you purchased our product and we are confident that it will surpass all your expectations for accessing and adapting your electronic information.
Folio has dedicated extensive resources to identifying and creating the right tool for accessing and adapting electronic reference information. Ten years of experience with customers who need powerful and flexible tools for information has helped us create Folio Views 4. Folio Views 4 represents the latest in integrated software for viewing, searching, annotating, and editing information in infobase format.
Viewing infobases is the most basic task. Infobases can be any type of electronic reference information, including legal decisions, corporate policy and procedure manuals, common question archives, or any other data needed in an instant-access form. With new features — such as a customizable soft interface, different infobase views, and text zooming — viewing electronic reference information has never been easier.
Before you can effectively use information, you must be able to find it. Folio Views 4 helps you to find business-critical information in a variety of ways. The most effective way is by performing a query. Since every word in an infobase is indexed, you can query for one word or a combination of words. You can use Boolean operators and other advanced searching techniques or even perform a ranked query to quickly find instant answers within massive amounts of information.
Another way of accessing information is by using the table of contents. The table of contents allows you to get a holistic view of the infobase's contents. You can expand or collapse the headings as necessary to see as much or as little of the contents as you wish. Once you see the topic or heading you want, just click to go to it.
Unlike most text retrieval or database applications, Folio Views 4 allows you to do more than store and retrieve information — it allows you to edit and annotate the information. You may type text directly into an infobase, you may import various file formats into an infobase, or — using a new feature of Folio Views — you may import data directly from your favorite World Wide Web sites by specifying a URL (the import filter used to do this can also follow links from the starting page to retrieve as much information as you need). Once you have the information in an infobase — either added to the infobase by you or given to you by others — you can annotate the information by adding notes, highlighters, and hypertext links and by creating shadow files.
With your information stored in a Folio infobase, you can quickly find critical pieces and personalize them to reflect the way you use information.
